Gardener and/or Handyperson - Ref ACC/GHP/01
Would you like to be a Gardener and/or Handyperson for our clients?
Age Concern Croydon (ACC) are expanding and developing our existing Handy Person Services to include gardening and general home maintenance.
We are looking to add to a small team of Gardeners and/or Handy Persons on “0 hour contracts”. By issuing 0 hour contracts, your Tax and National Insurance will be paid and you will be entitled to holiday and sick pay pro rata. It would be advantageous if you had experience of general DIY and/or gardening or a specific trade e.g. Carpentry.
The Handyperson Service operates Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. The role will ideally suit experienced retired trades-people looking for some part-time work or indeed active trades-people looking for additional work. Tools and a vehicle will be supplied if required.
We require you to:
• Be fit, healthy, practical, enthusiastic and energetic
• Have DIY/Handyperson and/or gardening experience. Click here to learn more about the ACC Handyperson Service.
• Have the skills and willingness to turn your hands to practically anything i.e. painting, decorating, general property maintenance and repair, basic gardening services including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general garden tidying
• Be able to provide details of two references – one of which must be your previous employer
• Have a sympathetic attitude and an understanding of the needs of older people
• Be conscientious and work to a high quality standard
• Possess a full driving licence.
